The Royal Society of Literature
Великобритания
Добавлен 30 апр 2014
Founded in 1820, the RSL is the UK’s charity for the advancement of literature. We act as a voice for the value of literature, engage people in appreciating literature, and encourage and honour writers.
Today, alongside our world-class events programme, we support authors both established and emerging with awards and grants, and manage an Outreach Programme to inspire the next generation of readers and writers.
At the heart of the RSL is its Fellowship, which encompasses the most distinguished authors working in the English language. One of our aims is to build bridges between our Fellows and those who enjoy their work, so that their unique talents are shared as widely as possible.

Both books explore childhood and the ways in which children see the world differently, even as they have to grow up. On Trampolining by Rebecca Perry revisits her childhood to weave arresting tales on pain, expectation, flight and grief in relatio...

intriguing to see Ocean talk to an actor, his book is very imaginative, all art form as it seem to be connected. great interview!
This woman stole the title and idea of her first novel to the famous spanish tv series El Ministerio del tiempo, from 2015.
How shitty do you have to be to accuse someone of theft when you haven't read their book? Which it's clear you haven't, otherwise you wouldn't be making this stupid accusation.
@@suburbanlegends1989 lawsuit coming soon. Read Goodreads reviews and digital newspapers. BBC and RTVE (Spain) are in conversation about this.

Myself and a few of my family travelled up to brafferton arbor and buttershaw for a look round ..we went to look at the blue plaque in remembrance of Andrea...although the area has been done up there's still that air of poverty sadly..I bet if andrea was alive today her writing would have just got better and better..May she rest in peace...great that you've remembered her..
Yes ❤

Many congratulations - a huge achievement
This is so good to see. Congratulations!
Fantastic news! Congratulations!
1483: THE YEAR OF THREE KINGS by Giles St Aubyn is a masterpiece which demonstrates how simple, concise facts and arguments can totally annihilate the type of 'revisionist' history (actually pseudohistory in many cases) that has been used by the Ricardian lunatic fringe for several decades. How Giles would feel about an award given in his name going to David Veevers is hard to guess. THE GREAT DEFIANCE allows Veevers to passionately rail against a view of the less developed areas of the globe that no one seems to actually have. Like Marjorie Taylor Greene on Fox News, angrily opposing the teaching of Critical Race Theory in primary schools (despite no primary school teaching CRT) Veevers has followed her by inventing the perfect argument to oppose - even if it doesn't actually exist away from his fantasy of a heroic victory over a right wing stereotype at a political debate.
I’m currently reading Colin Thubron’s ‘Among the Russians ‘ . Wonderful writing , storytelling , curiosity, keenly observed, involved human being . May you long continue your shared creative endeavours . I look forward to reading more . Many Thanks
Eight years ago......
The first book I ever read fully was the voyage of qv66. I'm now 33 and I still think about that book. Gonna buy it again.

The most self-hating, anti british person you will ever meet. He's a creation of a failed liberal education system.
Two wonderful women. A great actor and a great writer. A suberb interview. RIP Hilary x
"To succeed is bad taste" -- he nails it. The key to serious humour -- he has authored a book called 'Seriously Funny' -- is encoded in those words. For most of us life is a series of failures to look back on with a wry smile tinged with bitterness and then move on till disaster strikes. And that's the stuff of (serious) literature.
Lovely! Thank you for providing this two person party!
